DSO Empire Simulator
Last updated September 28, 2026
The short version: your actual gameplay save never leaves your browser. If you choose to appear on the public leaderboard, we store an anonymous ID, the name you pick, and your scores — no account, no email. If you buy the optional Legendary Card Pack, your payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see your card details. We don't run ads, sell data, or track you across other sites.
Who this is
DSO Empire Simulator is made and operated by Dental Strategy Institute ("DSI," "we," "us"). This policy covers the game at empire.dentalstrategyinstitute.com.
What stays on your device
The game itself — your cash, your hires, your season progress, your settings — is saved only in your browser's local storage. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. If you clear your browser data, switch browsers, or switch devices, that progress is gone; we don't keep a copy and can't restore it.
The leaderboard (optional)
If you open the Leaderboard tab, the game may submit your scores (net worth, fastest exit time, IPO shares) to our database so we can show public rankings. What's included:
- A random anonymous ID generated by your browser — it isn't tied to your name, email, or any account.
- A display name you choose yourself. Please don't put your real name or anyone else's personal information in it — anything you enter here is shown publicly. We run submitted names through an automated filter to catch obvious profanity, but we don't otherwise review what you type.
- Your submitted game stats and the time they were submitted.
We check submissions for basic plausibility (so the board isn't just whoever edited their save file) — that check looks only at your scores and submission timing, nothing more.
Optional real-money purchases
The game offers one optional real-money purchase: a Legendary Card Pack. If you choose to buy it, you're taken to a checkout page hosted entirely by Stripe, our payment processor — your card number, expiration date, and other payment details go directly to Stripe and never pass through our own code or servers. We only ever receive confirmation that a payment succeeded (and the amount), which our server uses to unlock the cards in your browser. See Stripe's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
Who else touches this data
We use a small number of outside services to run the game:
- Supabase — hosts the leaderboard database described above.
- Vercel — hosts the game itself, including the small server-side functions used to process real-money pack purchases. Like any web host, it automatically logs standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. We don't use this for tracking or advertising.
- PostHog — receives anonymous gameplay events (for example: opening the game, finishing a season, and how long a session lasted) tied to a random ID stored in your browser, so we can see whether the game is fun and where players get stuck. No name, email, or anything you type is sent. It is not used for advertising, uses no tracking cookies and no session recordings, and is switched off if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. As with any web service, PostHog receives your IP address when your browser contacts it.
- Stripe — processes payment for the optional Legendary Card Pack, as described above.
- Google Fonts — delivers the typefaces used on this page and in the game, which may involve a standard request to Google's servers.
We don't share your information with anyone else, and we don't sell it.
What we don't do
- No advertising or ad-tracking cookies.
- No accounts or passwords. We never see, collect, or store your card number or other payment details — Stripe handles those directly, as described above.
- No selling or renting your information to third parties.
- No cross-site tracking of you as a person.
Children's privacy
This game is intended for a general business/professional audience and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices
Since leaderboard entries aren't tied to an account, we can't look one up by name alone — but if you'd like your leaderboard entry removed, contact us with as much detail as you can (the display name you used and roughly when you played) and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
